The team invites you to Mongolia for the 5th annual Mongolian National Bird Fair, held at the National Park in Ulaanbaatar city. The fair will cover plenty of interesting aspects of bird and birding in the country. Our aim is to give a true understanding of fascinating creature, birds, and bird-oriented hobby, birdwatching in order to conserve the birds and develop bird benefit green tourism. Through the event, we would like to give a great impression to your children, share information and exchange experience on birds and birding among participants.

Our short birding trips will be guided by excellent guides in the country to birding sites near Ulaanbaatar such as UB Pit Pond, Tuul River, Bogd Khaan Mountain, and Terelj National Park (Siberian Boreal Forest for early registered and foreign birders).

Mongolian Bird Fair supports the activities of bird research, conservation and birding organizations in the country.

In addition to a full menu of field trips, mixers, workshops, and our annual banquet, the 2019 Fair will

Include daily, free estuary walks, and Family Fun Day, an expanded program of free events for families on Sunday, September 8.

Family-friendly activities include live bird presentations, art activities facilitated by the MOS team, and a birdcall workshop. All family events on Sunday are free with no pre-registration needed.

Please remember our 3Rs: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle

Please help us save birds by reducing waste. Bring your own reusable water bottles and reusable coffee mug to the Festival. Recycling containers are available throughout the venue area.

General Information

BIRD FAIR REGISTRATION: Registration will start on June 1, 2019. You can download our registration form from www.monglica.org or www.mos.mn. A confirmation letter will be sent at the completion of your registration. If you cannot register through email, please call +976-77460148 and +976-98100148.

SUNDAY FAMILY DAY event and short walks are free and do not require prior registration or any fees. The Pre- and Post-Fair trips should be done through our tour operator, Mongolica Travel. Space is limited so please register early.

CHECK-IN: When you arrive, there is a check-in procedure to receive your name badge, tickets, and bird lists. Our check-in desk opens on Friday 7 September at 8:30 AM and will be open until 5 PM in the evening.

TRIP NOTES: The Event will provide all trip transportation. All trips depart from and conclude at the National Park. Buses or vans leave at the scheduled event time. Allow time to check-in and buy any lunches or water.

WEATHER: Weather in Ulaanbaatar in early September is mild but the strong wind is always a possibility. Please be sure to bring layered, warm clothing and closed-toed shoes for these trips.

THE FAIR LOCATION: Mongolia and Chinese Bird Fair 2019 will be held at the National Park in Ulaanbaatar city. Signs and our staff will direct you to the registration and check-in area.

PARTICIPATORS: The Fair is open to anyone who interests in birds, bird photography and nature. Official participators will be Ornithologists /Birders /Conservationists, TV/Radio Personalities, Authors/Writers, Naturalists/Wildlife Experts, Academics, Film/TV Production, Photographers, family members, and the public.
